agree with grmanrocks. tat's are not skittish and very timid. they keep to themselves and aren't aggresive. that's my experience. $85 seems a bit high but i guess depends where you are. here in socal you can find tats that size for $85
 
Well the fish was labeled as a payara barricuda. I'm also wondering if I can keep plants with it.
 
ur payara will be 100% plant safe, and in fact, the plants may help him to keep safe and secure.

I just got mine today and he is very skittish when I walk up to the tank if I get close to him he darts to the other side of the aquarium is that normal for this fish?
