Actually ....yes! They do indeed hurt! I was lucky though, it was just a little guy about 4".

Yes it is a shame that all these natural things like bones, skins, basically any part of any animal are to have some kind of purposeful use in "medicine" or has "aphrodisiac" qualities. Even the ones that are true to some extent such as bear bile, you can buy synthetic medicines that do a better job. When people near their end of life (cancer and etc), they wanted to try things (even if it doesnt work), hoping for miracle.. so.. turtle jelly ... hmmmm.... I bet it taste like chicken jello ;)
 
who says u can't steal "good luck"?? i was watching a show where a guy took a shot of sake with the beating heart of a turtle in it. its just there culture, who am i to disagree.

I saw it in discovery channel, about a guy have to survive in a swamp for a week, and one day he trapped a turtle.. He killed it, and ate it.. He said it taste like chicken :D
