armie loaches dying 1 by 1.

I would start them on IP meds/food & garlic ASAP. This same treatment should be used on all new CL's in the future, too.

Doing water changes does take out some of the free swimming form but wouldn't changing the water too often cause the temp to fluctuate? Unless you can get the temperature from the faucet right everytime, if so please teach me how to do it... I can't feel the difference when it's 1 or 2 degrees off and those 1 or 2 degrees can stress fish out.

Nah. 1-2 degree changes in temp isn't that bad. They go through greater temp changes in the wild, they're not really all that fragile. You can be a *little* off, since the water will equilibriate eventually anyway.

besides a copper treatment, has anyone ever used any IP treatments with Great succuess?

Would prazipro work?

That's good to hear. I keep my tropics in 82 degrees and after wcs I'm usually down to 80 and I get scared something might go wrong.

I use copper for Ick, not IP's. Yes, PraziPro is fantastic if you can get the fish to eat it. Other good treatments are Levimasole & garlic extract. Check out the Nematode sticky in this forum for other treatment ideas. I personally have great success using a combination of these 3 treatments. The key is to make sure they EAT it! Internal parasites need to be treated internally. BTW, I've never seen garlic work by itself, but its supposed to harm IP's & it definitely makes it easier to get my fish to eat the food.

Another member, I am having trouble finding the thread, suggested a high VERY high protein diet. I personally have had success with this treatment via clams & shrimp combined with cucumber and garlic extract.

I think a hi-protein diet is good practice for all loaches, regardless of treatment, but yes I've also heard that before. This is kinda like the garlic thing...Some people say garlic alone will kill IP's, others say no way. I'm glad to hear you've had success with that approach, especially since there are so many members out there who refuse to use chems. I'd much rather a loach be cured by whatever means than see another specimen die! So many CL's are sold to the wrong people these days.
