Does anyone on here think it would be a horrible idea to keep an armored catfish/brown hoplo? we catch them all the time while fishing for native cats (for food, fun, and the occassional pond mate).
We never catch one over 9 inches and I know they will make the journey back to the tank or pond. plus they are invasive, so I would be helping the native fish in the area, not much but help anyway.

Well... I have FOUR hoplo cats in my tank. A pair of Hoplosternum littorale, a lone female Megalechis thoracata and a lone juvie Callichthys callichthys. All are very active and search the tank continuously for food. My littorales even come to the surface to eat floating pellets. Besides, they're peaceful, don't bother the other tank inhabitants and can stand some aggression by my SA/CA cichlids due to their armor... I really reccomend keeping ANY of them.

Best regards.

Daniel.

I figured they would be safe from any of my meaner fish, I also figured they'd be easy to feed. Just wanted to see if anybody had any and if they do ok in a tank.
