ARO CHASING ITS TAIL!

I'd say they do it because they don't recognise the tail as part of their body and act territorial/aggressive towards it, once they give it a good bite they will probably wake up and realise its a part of them.
 
It's a kinda aro mental problem. It keep having the though of something following it at the back.

We call it tail biting here and the only cure I ever successfully done is keeping the aro with other aros in the same tank. But once taking it out and keep it by itself again, it'll start all over again...

it can be a bit problem as the aro can rip their own tail to bits

i agree. do some research. its not a "natural" thing for aros to bite their own tails. aro needs to be treated. ive read about it in another forum.
