I agree with this. It's really based on the fish's personality, I've had aro's who cant stand the sight of other arowanas then I've had some live with other peacefully(until they died :(!!)

But yea if it is an option you can always return the lei for another one and hope it is more peaceful

i totally agree with the last sentence
 
here are some pics.. they have been together for quite some time now.
the problem leichardti and the mean black aro is not here.. they were moved another tank, separated.. i will still give it a try after 3 or 4 months.

2-12" black arows
2-5" silver arows
tinfoils, plecos, lobster...

Im going to be trying this myself,but with Silver Aro's,my nieghbor down the street has been succsessful doing this.The Aro's will only be like 4-5'' each.Wish me luck!!
