well i have been tring to get my aro (silver) to start eating floating pelits as he got spoiled on fresh shrimp and things like that. now i here people say that when he gets hungry he will start to take them.but its been 4 days and he still wont eat them. the bad thing is now he goes crazy as soon as the lights go off splashing and banging the glass top to the point that he has got 2 big cuts on his head. so now what i dont want him to beat himself up but i would like to get him to eat pelits any ideas

He is having temper tantrums..Maybe you can leave the light on or at least leave light on in room... so it is not a sudden change..4 days for an older silver{what size is your guy} is not much} as long as healthy when you started to change his diet and also if it has been settled in to tank for long enough so he is not under any additional stress.. mine went 6 weeks when he decided to fast for no reason..they have mood swings..lol ... Most important thing is too change over when arow is healthy and settled in...and then they come around... once on the pellets they love them... good luck..

you have to be firm just feed what you want him to eat not what he wants

I went through the same process. My BIG Silvers and Blacks and Asians and Aussies are strating to give in to pelletes ( I have the same tantrums with my Silvers )..
My BIG CK , on the other hand, is still refusing. Nearly a month has passed..

Don't worry they will cave in - after some heartbreak for you lol. I am lucky i suppose - my baby silvers, jar and paimas took to hikari quite readily
im not woried about him not eating as much as him beating him self up. he is about 8" now and has been in this tank from abought 2". i have lunar lights on at night does he need moore light?
yes...leave a weak light on in the room...needs to be stronger than moon light but also needs to "feel" nocturnal....
