I'm feeding Market prawns and Meal worms...

I feed mine with market prawns and sometimes live feeders. But I prefer to feed them market prawn as they would be free from parasite.

How descriminant are aro's with their food? I haven't seen my crawfish in a couple of days, and I'm not sure if he's hiding or if he was dinner. Will aro's take down live crawfish?

they prefer live foods. my crayfish was eaten when it moulted.

Try as varied a diet as possible...

this helps to prevent the aro from nutrient deficiency and at the same time trains the bugger not to be fussy.

I feed mine, live frogs, fish and frozen shrimp... takes them all without a problem... next will be trying pellets..

I feed my aro small frog, SW, and MW.
Now trying for Market Prawn.....dare not give live feeder fish....aro will have lots of problem later like easily get infected by disease mainly transfer by the feeder fish...

must remember that aros are very selective to the foods they are fead. usually they go to the following preference


1. live food (insects, feeder fish, frogs and other live feeds)
2. meat items (market prawn, small pieces of fish and other meat items)
3. pallets (for those very very lucky people who can get their aros to eat them)


and usually is very hard to downgrade from no 1 to 2 and to 3 but very easy to upgrade from 3 to 2 and to 1.

thats y ws shocked to see my aros willingly dwngrade from 1 to 2 without a fuss...
