does anybody have an aro that spends all of its time on the bottom of the tank hiding in some plants. It does this all the time it never used to it really kinda upsets me

Did you replace your light bulbs about the same time as his hiding started? High-band frequency lights cause distress in a lot of different fish. Plain old daylight bulbs from Home Depot would be best unless you're using specialized lighting for plants.

Have you introduced any new top-water fish? The aro could be getting bullied at the surface.

water temp? Maybe the heater is broken, and electrical current is flowing in the water. I noticed this with my bichirs. Once they were so active, then all of a sudden they just got stymied. So I feel the temp of the water, it was fine, but I felt a jolt of electrical current. I hope everyone here knows that 110 volts could not kill you, but 220volts would burn you, and kill you. Anyway, I found out that one of my powerheads had a broken seal on the houseing and that's where the electrical current is coming from. Feel the water, the electrical current would make you jump though, at first. :)

It only takes 40 Volts to kill you. Under perfect conditions that is...but it is possible. Macroshock from 110 could easily kill someone.
Im sure that fish would act differently if they were surrounded by an electrical field though, so it is worth a check.

Volts arent what kills you. Amps Kill you, something like 10 MiliAmps. If that goes across your heart will kill you no matter What the Voltage.

This is true but it takes a certain amount of voltage to get it across your heart:) Volts alone wont kill and amps alone wont kill. And you are right, it is 10 mA.
I work as a biomed tech so its been pounded into my head.

I also just read your sig joeytoe, "IM A GOD WARRIOR" I smell a new avatar LMAO!

If 110 volts would kill, I would be dead by now. I've gotten shocked and tickled whenever I am trying to add a new out for my house, but all I get is a nice "wake up" jolt. That's accidentally touching the wires. But whenever you say "perfect conditions", it means you are standing on water, barefeet, and just dont let go. I know one thing that if you touch a 220 volt wire, you could die, but not necessarily either. My neighbor who is an electrican has been jolted over 220, and he survive, but a little cuckoo.
