aro in a 65?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
you'll hear 180, 240 and 300s will be good for life.. ..but realistically you'll be more likely to need a 9x4x3 to keep a silver for life.. they grow huge, fast and even if you get lucky and buy an aro that by genes actually won't grow any bigger than 30" you'd still want to be prepared for a 35+ aro.. a 180 will buy you some time but I'd go with a 8x30x30.. the 180 will be a bit on the smaller side when the normal aros' growth starts slowing down, that extra width could give you an extra couple of years.. jmo.

People that plans to upgrade generally DON'T. If I were to guess based on people that I know, only 15-20% actually upgrade when needed.

If you don't have the tank now, there's 80-85% chance that you won't have the tank later.

my silver grew from 10cm to 70 cm in 15 months had him in a 60 gallon tank for 6 months he grew to bout 40 cm now he in a 250 gallon it also depends how much you feed him id say you got at least 6-9 months

yeah, well its probably a good idea to wait more, someday though.

very good thinking, I'm planning the same. Aros are my favorite but I haven't kept one since I've been serious about fishkeeping (the last one was when I was 7 and the 4" aro jumped out of it's 10 gallon community and dried up on the couch when we went on vacation)

i think a 180 would be the MINIMUM for an adult specimen, I'd preferably go with something at least 8' long and 30" or 36" wide. Can't wait to buy a house and order a Tenecor!
