I really want to get a Silver Aro, but just not sure if my 8x2x2 240g is wide enough for life for one of these guys. I have read post after post and cant make up my mind if it is a good idea or not. Tell me what you guys think if you would.

i would think that would be good!

but since they are supossed to get 32inches i would try to find something like that or wider, but that should be good for at least a good year or two!

Well this tank is brand new and I dont really plan on getting a larger one for quite some time. Dont have room for a bigger one and am not going to have time for any more tanks either.

It's fine even you can't get any bigger tank. Infact it's a huge tank already.:)

240 is a nice size. especially for an aro. of course bigger is better. but 240gal 8x2x2 is way better then what most people give silvers these days. mine lived in a 6x20"x24"tall for almost 2.5 years. others leave them in 125gal tanks or even smaller. ur doing a good thing :)

and 10k gallons is better, so its 20k gallons, or 30k gallons. 8x2x2 is ideal to start it off and get it going til its about 14 years old. then after that u may want the xtra 12"... i doubt he'l even own the aro to the point where it seems to big, trust me. my 8x2.5x2.5 seems like heavin for my 3year old aro... only 11 more years to go b4 ill know if his tank is to small =x
