yes, my arowana jumped out once again when i opened the lid to clean the tank. he fell at least 4 feet onto wood floor. its hard for me to get him to eat more often now. he usually snatches food right when i throw it in. now he rarely goes for it. i sometimes have to try to throw the food in front of his face for him to eat. but sometimes he wont take it. is there a chance he has internal damage? its been about 2 weeks since he jumped out.

put some bricks or books on top of that tank!

=0)

You can prevent a 4 foot drop by just being more cautious... you know your fish is a jumper, why dont you watch him at all times when you open the lid, if he jumps at you, swat his ass back in the tank, im sure the tap wont be as mad as the concussion it already got, and atleast hes not floppin on the floor hes back in water were it belongs...-josh

I am kind of repeating myself because i mentioned this on another post after a persons.. arrow jumped out and would not eat.. mine did not eat for 5 weeks and thank fully they can go along time without eating with no negative effects..but i would start trying slowly different foods.. once he gets his digestive tract going again he will eat on a regular basis again.. i know how you feel, we were frantic.. and did not want to go to live food but large meal worms and crickets did the trick and then after a week or two we went back to arowana pellets.. but unfortunetly he did jump out again at 24 inches long and we lost him because we were not there to save him in time..I am really careful and take all precautions now with our new guy..good luck and hope he is eating soon..

Is he still looking healthy and just not eating? If he's still looking ok (not too thin, good fins, scales, etc...), I would just give him some more time. Like R.D. said, they can fast for a while. I think trying crickets would be a good idea also. Live food like that on the surface could stimulate his feeding response.

Good luck with him. Hopefully he'll be back to normal shortly.
