aro jumped out again

We just put a 2x4x6.lumber on the Arrow tank.. i was really worried after reading all the jumping out arowana posts.. got us jumping!!:WHOA: We had the tape and the weights but this makes me feel a whole lot better.. I want to see him when he is 3 feet plus.. someday...

I know it is going to scare me out of my skin... but it will be worth it to save the arrow.. so far i have not had any problems but i will do this just in case.. With Arrows you take all the precautions you can take.. because you just know one day it WILL happen.. thanks
 
My old Aro was a terrible brat. When I opened the top, he would ambush and try to jump out. One time I saw him jumping so my hands were buried but I used my arms to block him, he actually bruised my arm from hitting it so hard. I posted the problem here and a few different people told me to slap him when he tried to get out. So first I thought that would be animal abuse, but after 2 slaps, he quit jumping when I was cleaning the tank.

As far as eating, all you can do is wait and see, you might try garlic, it's impossible to tell whats going on in his mind or body. I hope he's OK. Good luck.
 
you probably scared the fella, thats y he jumped out of the tank when u opened it. You should let the aro know u are around ....make some sounds to show ur presence before opening the cover slowly....
