well my wife knew i wanted a aro so she surprised me with a silver today...but he is tiny!!...i usually see them in lfs at around 4-6 inches...this ones maybe 2!!....i put him in his new home already...has like 3 or 4 guppies in there with him...its a planted tank with some swords and what not...hes swimming around and looks great...loves to just stay behind the filter (hob hes in a 55 gal for now)...my question is what do i feed one so small???...i have some blood worms was thinking of that.... i mean i cant see him eating pellets so lil...any input is great apreciated...ohhh and pics when he settles down have all the lights off and what not....alex

At this size they need soft floating foods, such as freeze dried bloodworms, some brands of freeze dried krill/shrimp and a quality flake food. Hold of on feeding pellets till the 5 or 6" range.

Also aros are jumpers so make sure your tank top is completely sealed.

I agree with Bderick foodwise and top wise. And pics are a must as soon as possible. Won't take long til he's able to eat larger foods.

Congrats on new silver keep an eye on him. When they're small other fish like to take advantage of them. Mine went crazy for freeze dried shrimp crushed up small.

Small aros are greedy by nature. Try crushed up small floating pellet for it to try as well.:)

i love silvers good memories but ive never had one that small might be better actually u may have more fun with him who knows? well i would feed him bloods worms and very soft floating foods like in the other posts. but make sure you dont have other preadtory fish in your tank as for they will scare him and he will remain shy for a while.

I agree, soft foods. mines did great with flakes and small tiny guppies. Take some pics because it wont be tiny for long

Since I got mine I grew him up on freeze dried krill to start and a month later with flake. This was about 2.5-3 months ago. He went from 2.5" to 4" slowly. When I put him on black worms he grew fast guessing from the protein. Now he is approx 6.5" and he grew to that in a month.

WTF does a bat have to do with fish?!?!

wtf is up with that post??...lol...i dont want no bat...lol...well hes doing good till now guys...pics when i get home...thanks
