Quarantine Tank
I was thinking about raising a BABY soft shell turtle with my silver aro and wanted to get some opinions on whether this is even possible.

My aro is about 11 inches and the BABY soft shell turtles I can get are only about 1 to 2 inches. (yes, I know they are illegal at this size)

The silver only eats pellets and krill, so the plan would be to also raise the soft shell on pellets and krill also. I have seen aros with frt but never with soft shells, so any suggestions on raising turtles with aros in general would be nice. One question I had was, how do you go about with your feedings? Seperate hand feedings or free for all dumping in the tank of food?

Any thought, comments, or suggestions on caring for an aro/turtle combo???

i have done it b4... watch the arowana attacking the softy...

How do you go about feeding both?

I thought soft shells didnt need basking areas? Arent they fully aquatic?

Thou I was planning on taking it out of the tank to let it dry off and bask once or twice a week.

Also not to worried about my silver aro, she is a sweetie and has never shown any aggression.

that not true

soft shells are semi-aquatic and need 24/7 access to dry land a heating soarce and uvb/uva lamps

in the wild they are frequently seen sunning and heating themselve on dry land, logs, rocks, etc.

Any thoughts on getting a soft shell on krill and pellets? Hard to do or what?!?!?
