Hi every one I have a question I´m about to upgrade my tank for my aro I get my tank in a week so I was thinking of putting sand for substrate, but was thinking of putting sea sand and some one told me that it might change some parameters of ph and might cause my aro not to grow, does anyone know how I can stop the ph from changing, or if I defenetly should´t use this sand, I get it cheap thats why I whanted to use it

Boil the sand?

OR...... use pool filter sand...cheap to..... How big of a tank are you up gradeing to?
one bag of pool filter sand filled 3/4'' in a 125gal. and to lower your PH, if you were to get sea sand, use drift wood.

two 50lbs pool filter sand is like $10usd and is easy to clean.

pool filter sand is decent but it gets pretty much cloudy when doing water changes, that's silica pool filter sand at least. what i have used is 3m color quartz, it doesn't effect ph levels at all. about 16-20 dollars for 50 lbs. just gotta find it.

3m color quartz doesnt cloud up the tank as well. Search for 3m products. Great stuff.
