Aro tank size?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah I care more to see the fish in the tank, the lights are normally center and the entire tank is easily viewed. I like the contrast of the black background and leave the tiled look for my kitchen floor.

Tend to agree with the statement of viewing aros from above. So an indoor pond would require a viewing window(s) IDK maybe that would then make it a tank.

Well, considering that I've only seen 3 aros in person in private tanks (and that's including mine), is it really that surprising that none of the 3 were a decade old? This is yet another point of yours that I don't understand.

The point you don't understand is aros were very popular even before mfk started so were are all the 10 year old silvers with the amount of members on this forum there is prob a handful of 10 year old silvers

Aros live a lot longer than 10 years so the only reason that we don't see many 10 year + silvers is because people have to give them up as they get to big even for people with what most people would class as a big tank

The background is a jewel background as I felt like a change from the boring old black plastic I had for years and a 6ft wide tank is a lot harder to clean than a 3ft wide tank which is easy to get to to clean I noticed you don't clean yours but mine will just get better with age as stuff grows on it

The other problem with the 3ft deep was getting a background that tall which you will find when you spend some money on the tank and go over 30inch deep as it gets a bit more expencive at 3ft deep

That will be good if you can get some gunk to grow in those seems, so they don't look so apparent.

Earlier you suggested that we keep water. Not really a good idea, best to get rid of as much water as you can and replace with new water. Otherwise you'll get a built up of nitrates and other undesirables which make for unhealthy fish.

BTW I don't have to clean my tank, that's what the plecos are for :p

Oh, I see.

Plecos in a acrylic tank mmmmmm that's going to look great in a few years I love that scratched look don't you

As for water changes what are they my system changes 200gal per day on it's own so I don't need to change any water myself but I do remember what water changes are

You right the seams will fill in with time as that was the idea

If they don't fill in what I could do is turn some lights off so you can't see the tank back like you have or even try to hide them with some tall bits of drift wood thanks for pointing it out I will take it on board and do something about it if it posses me off as much as it seams to piss you

What posses me off is that giant you tube link in you sig

If you don't have proof (which I'm sure you don't), then it didn't happen as far as I'm concerned.
