aro w/ discus in planted tank?

does anyone have experience with keeping an aro with large discus in a planted tank? i was thinking about doing this because it would look REALLY nice IMO.

It's nice, but there's chance that your aro will stress the discus. Judging from your aro personality, it may work

I think that would be a great combination! I always wanted to try that. I think you need to go with a deep tank. The Aro would hang at the top and the discus would cruse around the bottom. That separation might keep tensions lower

thanks for the encouragement. i think i will. this project should be in full effect by the end of the summer. i'd love to start now, but that ish ain't cheap.

I would go 30 inches if that's possible. I have two tanks that are 30 inches deep and it seems like a good amount of separation. One is 6 foot X 18 inches and 30 inches deep, it's just a taller 125. It will sit on the same stand. I think it's about 170 gallons.
My other tank is 5 foot X 2 foot wide and 30 inches deep, more turning room for the Aro but 1 less foot long. The tanks look awesome and they are off the shelf type tanks, not "custom"
