whoa! did it break the glass?

I subscribe to the school of use a current in tank to help aro heal

when i got my aro over half its tail was gone.. took over a year to heal but now can barely notice

Luckily the glass didn't break. Damn, a whole year? That a long time. Oh well, I plan on taking good care of him for a long time anyway.
How much current are we talking here? I already have the return from the sump. Should i add a powerhead also?
 
Help!!! Now it looks like a bit of the top fin is going to fall off just above the scales. Not to worried about that BUT it looks like a white patch is starting to form. FUNGUS?

I am changing 50% of the water every day or two. Temp is @ 83-84. I have added salt also. 1tsp per 5g.
Anything else I could do?

Aro is still eating. although only crickets.
 
I'd up the salt to 1 Tbsp per 5 gallons at least. I would us some Melafix in that tank pronto!

if your water parameters are good, i don't see why you need to change huge amounts of water. the last thing you need is to add more stress to stressed out aro who recently had an out of tank experience.

I'd add blackwater extract and leave it alone. at most i'll add more salt and turn on the heater. :)
 
The tank is overstocked while i wait for the bigger tank to come in. I just figured better to be safe than sorry.

yeah 1 tbsp per 5 at least. My aro tank gets a 25 on wednesdays, and a 50 on sundays. No more no less. Just out of curiousity where in hawaii are you???
