Yeah I'm sure you cut out excess wherever possible

I would check fish and game, or agriculture to see if there is a way around it. They are illegal to have here in the US but there are ways around it. The guy I know here in Hawaii said that you could have a asian arowana, but you need to be qualified ( tank size, filtration, experience and reason for woning...scientific purposes...someone usually come to where you are planning to contain the fish and inspects the tank) Also the guy who gives you the paper work has to like you as well. Anyhow, I dont want an asian arowana that bad, and anyways was just talking story with the guy at agriculture....thats where this info is coming from. He said it can be done....people on the other side of the islands are breeding reds and greens right now. So it is proof that it is a possibility but on the other hand.....they have large outdoor ponds with nettings like Koji and also are doing it for scientific purposes...breeding to repopulate in numbers so eventually you will be able to purchase in US...that is a long time from now also.....I'm personally happy with my silver aro.
