I'm considering geting either a silver or black aro as an addition to my 180 gallon. I would also like to get an Aqua Clear 110 HOB to support the two Rena XP4's currently filtering the aquarium. Is there any way I can use the HOB yet keep the aro from jumping out of the open slot where the filter will hang?

Thanks.

Use a plastic backer on your lid, and cut it to fit the space for the AC EXACTLY.

I used glass on top of glass weighted with rocks. I also weighted the top of the AC filters with rocks too.

Thanks, everyone. Good suggestions from all. What about placing those white square grids (used for lighting and in the construction of wet/dry filters) over the top of the aquarium, including the rear open slots and weighting the grids down with something heavy like bricks or lead?

i had those white square grids on my tank weighted down with plumber's lead and my aro moved them like they were not even there. also the plastic edges are kinda sharp and got brittle after a few years, that's why i went with the rubber coated wire shelving.

less damage to the fish if they try to jump..

warning guys large aros will not be kept in by those plastic backers, better weight them down
