"Lower water level doesn't quite change swimming area or made it cramped, since arowana moves laterally more than vertically"

still, makes no sense
It only makes sense to one who keeps arowana

With Arowana (or some predator fish) more room=more fight. Keeping light off will help to reduce fighting

Yup!

Add few more pieces of driftwood or flowerpots to obstruct their views of each other.....

Adding more water movement.....keep them fighting current.....an not do the head to tail aggression stance.......

All this...yet no guarantee comm will work out.......

Some aros jsut not ment to be comm'd....LOL

Aros certainly move vertically if there comfortable...mine use every level of their tank and will even rest on the ground because there so content. There are no bottom dwellers in the tank to threaten them. Lowing ur water level is nonsense, i understand its the same footprint but this really doesnt solve your problem. If your going to let them battle it out atleast let them swim away from eachother.

i lower down the water level and add more wave maker and driftwood..the limitation space make them rub shoulder each other this make them know each other well..and very hard for them to start fighting stance ( the side by side with 's' shape body bend action)..accept one..he really cant be comm'ed..and always want to fight..so i separate only him now..the rest looks ok for time being..will update again later..

I keep aro and it don't make sense. This is based on how agitated mine get with each other during water changes. Plus now there is nowhere for a stress aro to retreat as the usual lower level swimming area has been eliminated.
