Thanks.. Can someone please guide me if a strong water flow/current is good for the aquarium and fish? I had a Jebo WD40 wave-maker in my marine aquarium but removed and installed before i sold it... Its quite powerful even at the lowest setting... Can someone let me know the advantages or disadvantages of a strong water flow in a freshwater aquarium....

Aro's don't like strong water flow, however with your stock level, you want current close to the bottom to stir up the detritus and move it to the filter. Aro's are top water fish so you should be ok

Can someone please identify the Peacock bass I have in the 2nd video.. Some have markings all over the body but one has only 3 black bars and that's it... It also eats like a pig and has out grown the others.. They were all the same size

Really nice peacock bass. Look forward to seeing the new tank

Its been a while.. Ive upgraded to a bigger aquarium with dimensions are 170x60x60 and sump 160x50x50 since 6 months now.

I just want to know your thoughts on HOW often or when should I clean my Freshwater Sump?

I do a 25% water change every week and top up water in the sump every 3 days.

HOW often or when should I clean my Freshwater Sump and should I change/replace all the mechanical sponges for new ones?

I have my system up and running since 6 months now and haven’t changed or cleaned the sump even once, I also have allot of Bio-ball, ceramic rings in one chamber a 5 gallon K3 media running in one chamber with mechanical sponges between chambers.

I also have a separate JBL 1500i external filter running on the main aquarium which I clean out every 2 months.

Any information on sump cleaning would be much apprecitated…

Not trying to be an ******* but your tank is waaaay too small for an Arowana. Its okay for a few months but that Arowana is going to be way too big in just a few months! Whats the depth of the tank? 40-45cm? Definitely not bigger than 50cm because of 150g and 150 long + 90 height.

That Arowana is gonna be as big as 35+cm within half a year or so. At least mine grew from ~17cm up to ~33cm within 6 months!

edit: sorry, just saw that you upgraded to a 170x60x60 tank. Way better dimensions although in my opinion still a bit too small for a permanent home for an Arowana.
