Yes I just did a 50% water change 2 days ago. If it was ich would he have white specs on him?

My guess is that the large water change was too much stress on your Aro. Aros like aged, soft water. A large water change will definitely alter those parameters. I noticed with my Jardini I had for a year before I sold him, that he definitely did not like large water changes like some fish do. He would tweak like that for days until he got used to the new conditions.
