Arowana Advice for a newbie

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i dunno why "they" always died on ur caring, but how many exactly is they?
did they die under the same condition?
like someone said did u ever test the water, did u check the nitratrate?
im a noob on arowana too, but i think nitrate dictates the WC, not the days/week.
could it be because u change the water too much thats why all u aro u ever kept died?

train them on pellets, and watch it, dont let the pellets rodded in the tank, but if urs dont want pellets and rather go fasting, try feed them drie/frozen, lives only after u quarintine the feeders for days even weeks.
mine still refuse the pellets but i gave them variety of dried/frozen and quaritined lives

Too much water changes :screwy: as you said you are an "arowana noob" giving advice is probably the last thing you should be doing.

when people dunno what they doing and what to do with the newly fresh water they change it with, what do u thing is in that fresh tap water?
yes im noob in arowana keeping but not new to fish keeping, and arowana is basically fish keeping, and u need to know the nature of that fish and the nature of the fish lives in, and u would be as good as an expert fish keeping.
until the OP posted back what caused his arowanas to bite the dust at young age its all only speculation

Well then if this is the point you are trying to make, then it would untreated tap water killing the fish. Not too many water changes as you previously stated. You do need to stop the pedaling of misinformation.

Remember how bent out of shape you got when someone assumed you didn't have a filter on your new tank? Why do you assume that the OP doesn't know what he is doing? Maybe better to ask questions instead of assuming and speculating

thats why i asked the OP before hand, how many arowanas is exaclty "they" and what r the condition, and also i asked like other member asked previously about the water test.
he did mentioned he does 20% WC bi-weekly but OP never mentioned if the water is treated.
he also mentioned fluval 305, which means he could be under-filteration for his 75G tank with monster fish in it, monster fish create monster waste and breathing LOL
as for my case it is just a member with a glance look at my fishless cycling pic which u support his argument. he did not see what others see, with detail and actual brain behind the eyes.

What monster fish? The arowana were BABIES :duh: You need to talk about brain behind the eyes.

oh yes the arowana is babies but they r still monster well a baby monster LOL and im aware of that, what killed the babies is defenitly is the enviromental the babies in, baby dies because of a cause. they just dont die with no reason.
if we dont pinpoint what the OP did wrong i got a feeling more babies will die LOL

Your arguements are beyond pointless first of all. If the OP has a BABY, then even a damn sponge filter would do. Whether or not the water for the waterchanges are even treated isn't even relvant. These small changes if done biweekly aren't about to kill an arowana. Adding onto the fact that you believe a 150 is going to fit a fully grown arowana, you're definitely in no position to give advice. I may need to get my eyes checked out, but you definitely are lacking this so called "brain behind the eyes" LOL.
