I'm planning to setup a planted tank 5ft x 2ft x 2.5ft and i wanna keep an atf and arowana. Will it work?
 
i was of the opinion that atf should only be kept in a species tank, with like 32 razor sharp teeth i should imagine it would make short work of a finny arowana.... a 5ft is a very bare minimum for an arowana and probaby wont see it throughout its life. A normal ATF will get up to 100lbs and up to 30" long, so a 5ft would definitely not work for a long time, I would say NO!

you could probably do it for a long long long time....gatf are way overated and the aro will do fine for a long while...just as long as they're around the same size

my friend had an silver aro that outgrew his 2 foot width tank in less than a year.... In fact, I would probably say less than 8 months.
