Arowana and African tiger Fish Goliath

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i guess the growth rate of the fish depends on the tank size and the growth will be stunted cos they are not in their natural habitat.

i think you're looking at this is the wrong way, These are fish which will inevitably out grow a 5ft tank in no time. The arrowana is large and prime nipping material. The GATF grow to 30" 100lbs with razor teeth, they are best kept in a group and will not thrive in a 5ft. The 1st video you posted, yes the fish are not killing each other, but the space they have is comparable to a goldfish in a bowl and in not too short a time, there will probably be some injuries inflicted. Do not buy fish which are not designed to live together.... and especially not when the risk of death is higher than that of happy living!

I could be very wrong but I'd get an ID on those ATF in the vids.. don't exactly look like G's to me..

bare minimum I would go with a 8' tank and have plans from there.. or go with a VATF or forskalli, etc

i see i thought a vatf will grow to the same size as a gatf. thats why i choose a gatf cos it look nicer. thanks for the info

No VATF(I think that's in the first video) stay smaller like 24" or 36" I forget which.. And forskalli I think max out at 12"?(which I think are in the second vid) I could totally be wrong as both are hard for me personally to ID. But there are other ATF species you can try with a smaller tank.

No one has maxed out a GATF in captivity yet. But I'm guessing it would be safe to assume that it should max out over 3ft at least.
