I have a 300gallon tank 92" by 30" 24" tall.
The tank is empty as we speak but I do have a 6" silver arowana and 6" Flagtail, my plans are to set the tank up and put plants in it for a month or two so they can settle in first then I wanted to maybe add some 5"+ discus to the tank(5 discus or more?) In the case of waiting say 3 to 4 months I'm sure the arowana (in a 150g) will grow to 10" think I will be safe to add him the the 300 gallon?

The arows wont bother the discus. I've kept similar set ups with aros and discus and never had any issues. Tank set up looks great!
+1 I see no reason why an arowana (especially a silver) wouldn't get along with discussing. I suppose anything possible, but I don't think it's likely they'll have any problems.

Speaking from experience, Discus can be a real inconvenience. Keeping high temperatures 82 - 86 degrees & multiple big weekly WC's, can be very burdensome. An eventual 30 inch Arowana might not be the best tankmate for a group of Discus.
If you like the rounded Discus shape, maybe a group of Severums would be the way to go. A much bigger, more durable disc shaped cichlid.
Btw, nice setup.

I've always loved severums and have had the mix before yes works great but see what I did t tell any of you is my (Fiance)! Lol she's 100% discus only. The temp doesn't bother me and I have a idea for WC's the sumps drilled and plumed to the basement drain so Im thinking about putting a timer on a pump to run say for 5 minutes once a day to add 10 gallons of new water in the display tank and the bad water can flush out. So if I did that 5 days a week, 50 gallon water change a week that's what a 15/20% WC a week. Idk in my head it sounds good.
