Hi everyone,

so i’ve been battling this odd behavior in my tank. It’sa 96x30 deep 24 tall 300 gallon all parameters are fine and i test want water change 3 times a week. My arowana seems to just sit in the one spot all day long. I thought it was decor so I removed it. I also took down one of the two lights i had. But basically all my fosh congregate in one corner of one side. I have powerheads and have tried every configuration of on off and flow levels. I added some silver dollars as dithers to calm everyone down but I don’t believe it’s helping.

are there any secrets to getting your fish to be less shy or more active when it comes to monster fish? Thank you!

How long have the fishes been in the tank? If it’s a new setup it will take days or weeks for them all to get comfy. Give them time they’ll come around.

Apparently the silver dollars don't have the same desire of piling onto a corner of the tank, as they are not visible on the picture (unless the picture was made before introducing the dollars). That in itself is curious.

I had a bunch of driftwood with plants in the tank and they did the same thing so i moved it to another tank. Current temp is 81-82 degrees. Yes silver dollars are in there and don’t hide in the corner

+1, try turning off the powerheads and see if that helps. Are they eating normally?

Generally speaking and assuming that water conditions are good...if you have fish that appear stressed and frightened, the absolute last thing to do is remove all decor/cover to leave them forcibly exposed and thus even more stressed.
