I have been gone all day and I come home and I come up to my tank and my silver flips out... I was like, oh crap I spooked her, but its like every time I walk by the tank now she flips out... Swims really fast and some times jumps up and hits the hood... Im not liking this behavior at all... She was so calm and peaceful for the almost two weeks and never had this issue yet... and its worrying me cause I dont want her hurting herself in the process of a fit... She already has a little surface abration... Also I have noticed that she goes to the side of the tank and pushes her nose up on the glass and goes back and forth almost like she is being agressive with her reflection... Im probably going ot get something to cover the sides of the glass today so hopefully that will help...

a normal behaviour of an aro not established and adpated to its new environment yet.

Avoid appearing suddendly in front of the tank. Let it see you coming. Move slowly and without sudden movements.

I agree with Miguel but I would also test the water to make sure everything is ok since its rubbing the glass

another sign of skittishness, of being uncomfortable in its surroundings

I agree with the responses so far. One thing I did was place my aro tanks in a high traffic area. They will get used to people. One thing to remember is that an aro has awesome eye sight. Some are easily spooked from different colors and sudden movements or noises.

Also please check you water parameters. Silver aros are effected more from water parameters than most other fish.

Hope this helps,
Chris

i got mine used to the color/traffic. i pull up a chair an sit by the tank. the arowana just needs time to acclimatize to his new digs.
