Can someone that knows more about this fish clear some stuff up for me?

I heard Asian Arowana is banned from the U.S
The red too
Now.. I went to the pet store(fish) and they had Jardini Arowanas there babies and big ones for sale?

What is the difference between these Asian ones and the ones that are legal in the united states? As they look the same from what I see in pictures/video.

I never seen a Silver one before but they are cheaper then a Jardini (here, ohio) What is the difference or is it just color and what would that be?

Whats cooler/better Jardini/Silver in your opinion?:nilly:

Sorry if I sound stupid.

Jardinis are tough. Yes Asians are illegal. Silvers are very delicate and will die if there is a small fluctuation in the balance or if you even give them a dirty look. Invest in a Jardini, you wont go wrong

I would like to hear more on the Silver :) sounds interesting

I really want one of these fishes in the distant future once I get my stuff together!

What is the big difference between a Asian and a regular(legal) kind? I'm guessing just genes/generations.

I don't think silver arowana are delicate, at all. They're tough.

I read the post on here (at the top all about them) they say they are hardy as well. So I don't know maybe he just never had good luck?

haha.. here my 2 cents.

Silver arrowana - i bought him when he's 3-4 " long, they arent near extinction and their probably quite a number of them . Their lean and long body.

They arent fussy eater , but you have to spot handfeed them. like dropping pellets infront of them. They usually wont chase after dead food.. occasionally chases small fish .. and jump up and bite your finger when you poke your finger through the hole up the lid. ( happen to me and startled me when i wasnt paying attention to him LOL )

they also have a high chance of developing dropeye..
their easily startled and can go crazy at time.

asians arrowas comes in various color.. Golden , red , purples, xback , high back.
short body but really brute when adult..
symbol of fortune and rumors to die for you when needed to take away your fated day.

interms of beauty , asian arrows is a sure must have. lol. but well a good jardini isnt bad too.. their more aggressive thou lol

And Jardinis dont get dropeye. I had a 3 in silver arowana in a 10 gal community tank. And the constant movement of all of my mollys ended up causing him to curl up and die. I would hand feed him freeze dried krill. The pH was around 7, and water was changed regularly, and i had a OTB filter rated for 20-30 gal. He wasnt going to be there long which was my reasoning for having him in that tank temporarily. (My flowerhorns would have eaten him alive)
