Best to make your own wanted to buy thread in the buy and sell forum. Looks as if you are in Florida, the only arowana legal for you to own would be silver arowana.

S.jardini are native to australia and papau new guinea (which were once hooked up when sea levels were lower) and S. leichardti are from australia.
they are not near extinction. though the leichardti is threatened and confined to one area of a few joined rivers in south east qld. ie these fish have a wider temperature range than asian varieties with the leichardti being able to handle much lower temps. so keep that in mind for the states. i think they can handle waters as cool as 13-15 but will die if exposed to 10C for too long. asians will not handle near to those cold extremes.

Well, asians have some nicer colors than the jardinis. Also, asians have really big scales, while jardinis have a bunch of itty bitty scales.

They are different species, but same genus. There are four species of asian, and two of australian, but they're all in the genus Scleropages.

Asians and australians reach about 3 feet in length, Silvers reach 4'. Asians and jardinis tend to be less flexible and more bulky, while silvers are long and slender and elegant.

Also, jardinis are super mean, usually. I've heard some of the asians are too, mainly the golds and reds.
