arowana cracked the tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I think it is the arowana but I don't saw any injuries in him the other tankmates are fine too.....I don't see any explanation and the tank was not broken down and yes I did water change yesterday which could be the reason probably

No way this thing cracked your tank.

I have on 2 occasions been in a customer's home when one of their fish cracked a tank. The first time was when a pacu launched itself out of the tank, hit a 1/2in bracing bar and snapped it in half , and the second occasion was when a red-tailed catfish smashed into the end panel of a tank and the panel split from top to bottom. Not a common problem I know but it can happen.

W windsor ; It can definitely happen. I remember my friend telling me how he was at a guys house and a snakehead cracked a tank.

Oh no I'm not saying it can't happen I have had basketball sized Pacus and 4 foot red tail cats so I'm not saying they can't crack tanks.

That arowana at 16 inches max couldn't have done it. No injuries to fish or anything.

1/2" bracing? Is this 1/2" thick or width glass bracing, or 1/2" plastic bracing. I'm not suggested it cannot happen.

then how the hell the thing cracked...??
i dont if someone has cracked it or what...m in confusion

may have cracked from bowing or twisting of the tank, may have cracked from temp differential at water change, may have a minute crack that decided finally let go, IMHO it was not the fish.
