Arowana diets?

From my understanding captive breed silver will get drop eye, its just a matter of time, unless it is a wild caught silver, just like black it is wild caught so hardly see DE on black aro.

Yes it does, If you give you're aro floating food it will prevent drop eye since they stay at the top of the water at all times, But when they eat feeders they are looking down constantly when trying to eat a feeder which gives them drop eye.

OMG:nilly: I realize that in your mind this sounds logical, unfortunately it is far from reality.

Another myth, there are plenty of wild caught silvers here on MFK with DE

Advice retracted, as you know what your doing :duh:

a feeeder every once in awhile isnt gonna kill him...Mine eats a feed ever once in awhile, massavoire delight, foodsticks, krill, beefheard, and marketshrimp

I got my silver at 3'. Was feeding him blood worms then progressed to small crickets and small feeders. I tried pellets but no luck. So I tried today, defrozed blood worms, beef hearts and smashed aro pellets, mixed and refroze it. I used a spoon to break up small bit size pieces and threw the in tank. Mine takes them down. He's about 6' now and had him for about a month.

So I will be rotating from crickets, small feeders and my froze mix until I can get them on a pellet diet. Good bro. Hope this helps.

yea thanks. hows frozen shrimp? i really want him to eat floating. i know drop eye isnt really determined but ive read on here sum think its due to constantly looking down for food and wut not. and floating pellets make them look up. bedrick- uve said starve him. how long should i really go with this?? ive gone a couple of days but then i cave in
