Whether it has tankmates or not, it's either let the discus be eaten or separate them. You do not have much choice, sorry.jersey600;3069237; said:he's got plenty of tankmates.. 7 clown loaches, 2 full grown upsidedown cats, pretty big pleco and all the discus.
dont have anywhere to move the discus to so we'll see as it goes.
If they have been together since the aro was young then you might have chance of keeping them together depending on the size of your tank and how you aquascape it. I have a 11" Leichartdi with discus, angels, clown loaches, bichirs, and archers. Funny how it does not attack the angels and discus but enjoy chasing away the archers when they come too close. I would advice trying to attach floating plants on suction cup and stick them to the side of the glass. This will decrease visibility for the aro and allow the discus to run for cover.jersey600;3072365; said:it is what it is fellas, no need for harsh comments like "use your head" required. i'll see if i can put in a divider in the tank to separate them. i do have some eggcrate lying around. thanks for the suggestions otherwise
they have been together ever since the aro was 6" long and 99.999% of the time the aro doesn't bother the discus at all. i've seen plenty of tanks mixed with aro and discus.
