I had a Jardini for a year (before i moved) and he/she grew to 20" within a year, good clean water (filtration, WC, etc.) and a variety of foods.

would you mind lettingme know what size tank and how often did you do water changes? sounds like excellent growth. i currently have a baby jar alone in a 6''Lx2'W tank that has grown from about 4.5" to 6" in the first month i've had him. i'm doing large scale water changes trying to keep nitrate belo 5ppm. my goal is to have him aroud 20" within the first year as well. i'm hoping with the strict waterchange schedule and variety of foods can get the little booger there.

From fry to 20" within a year. Never heard or seen any australian or asian arowana grow that quick.
Yes my Jardini grew from 2"-20" within a year, I've taken really good care of my Jardini. My avatar pic is when my Jardini was 7 months of having him/her, and on top of that housed with 2 Clown knives , 2 blood red parrots and 5 botia loaches with no problem, when I sold my Jardini we measured my jar at 20" from the tip of the mouth (not barbels) to the tip of his/her tail. I lucked out with this Jardini, and hopefully I'll have the same results with my new one that I have in my new location. With this being said, I'm no expert at raising Arowanas just giving advice from experiences. I've only raised Jardinis an Leichardtis.

Yah no prob, I housed my Jardini in a 96"x24"x24" and water changes are 2x a week of 50-25% pre-treated with Ketapang leaves(which I'm trying to find here in Texas), list of foods I feed my arowana(even now with my new Jar) is: Shrimp, pellets(sticks), Bloodworms, Beef heart, chicken heart, mealworms, crickets, Mysis shrimp, fish fillets(fresh and cut to cubes), what I do when I feed was mix all foods throughout the week(or month), beef heart I feed twice a month, but that's my way of feeding. What works for me might not work for others....so..... Just advising that's all.
