Im guessing it could be some of the inside fat tissue from within the socket that came out.

This sounds like It could be. It looks like some kind of tissue. What can cause this?

Looks like the skin on the upper eye has been ripped open exposing the tissue. Did your aro have DE in this eye?

This is what I fear happening with one of my large silvers which has extreme case of DE.

Yea this silver has been very skittish since I got him/her. When it first came in the tank it swam into the glass and hit around other places too and messed up its eye. that healed then a month or two ago my girl was near the tank and it jumped out the tank. My girl was trippin out bad and didnt know what to do I was at work and this silver was behind the tank jumping around on the floor eventually it found its way around the tank to the front after like ten fifteen minutes and my girl got it back in the tank!!! my girl is scared to handle live fish too..

So with this will it just heal in time?

From old pictures comparing it looks the same just without the white tissue. Did not really have DE if it did it was real light. Does that make sense?
