Neither are neccessary. Best to use freeze dried bloodworms as this floats and gets your aro to eat it faster. When it gets big enough, theres no need to go to crickets. They have no nutritional value and are only used to get aros to start eating. After bloodworms, go to frozen shrimp. Cut into small peices so that the aro can eat it. You can also feed him pellets/foodsticks at this time, break the pellets/foodsticks in half if they are too big for it to it. Then when its big enough to handle whole shrimps you can move onto superworms, but that can just be used as a treat. Remember, no feeders.SOKO;2788702; said:Feed him live bloodworms instead of frozen. Eventually, start him on crickets.

true but you'd be spending alot of money feeding them quality foods so they would be somewhat more nutritional so we might as well just feed the aros directly.hmoobvwj;2789600; said:
Feeder aren't bad....just how they are kept is what's bad for the fish. If you by all means breed your own feeders and feed them to your arowanas, I have no problem with that. DE is NOT yet been found to what causes it....it could be many factors to this disease.
