Arowana help

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
sorry about that, i typed in "marine" instead of freshwater, mixed up both terms, as i said im new to this..

so it means, i had the arowana sit through the process of cycling?

I just tested the water again this morning..my nitrates, ammonia and nitrite levels are now down to 0ppm...PH still 7.2

should i expect it to swim normally soon?

How much water are you changing? A properly cycled tank will show rising levels of nitrates with no ammonia and no nitrite.

Ya, I don't know what advise to give. The water params that your are posting are impossible(with very few exceptions). You may want to recheck your testing instructions.

thanks, ill observe for a few more days. In the meantime, ill sit down and enjoying watching it feed :)

i dont know if its the effect of him positioning his left gills on the airbubble...but i think this developed slight open gills....not sure if it is a gill curl..

i solved the problem of him staying in that position by placing the sponge filter away from the corner , so his swims right past the bubbles....

however the effect of him staying there a couple of days is shown in his gills...

help..

You can put a power head in the tank and keep the water clean. This can help the gill curl go away but it's only a 50% chance.
If it doesn't work you'll have to cut it.

thanks , i'll try the power head, if i dont cut his gills soon, it will become hard and i will have a harder time in cutting it in the future right?
