Most would consider your tank fine for a full grown jardini up to 24" long. If by some way your jar would grow beyond that you may have to upgrade but that would be years down the road.
 
Does larger barbels imply better quality?

or the possibility of that happening at 8in.. thats when mine lost its marbles lol luckily i realized that, and quickly isolated him before any deaths!

I got him at CD aquarium over by tully..Silvers-$35 and Jars-$55 there some on craigslist to. I went to Neptune, lucky goldfish, king, bay, blue lagoon, dolphin, and more. CD had the best so far.
 
ya i get all my aros from some guy on craigslist he hooks it up pretty cheap and his aros are pretty nice you ever go to the aquarium showroom??
