Could i and how long could i keep a silver arowana in a 90 gallon?

Thanks folks!

It's hard to guage how long exatcly, but if you feed the arrow good enough it should grow at least 1.5" per month. Could you post the dimentions of the tank?

simple answer is not long, 4 months max I would say...

48x24x18

also depends on how big the arrow is now, but if your talking about juvie around 2" 4-5 months sounds about right. He'll grow quick if properly fed. you might be able to push it a little because of the 24" depth (front to back) size of your tank, but not by much, you will just end up stressing the fish out. hope this helps.

Short answer:

NO

the one at the lfs was about 1.5". around $12 or $15 i think

OK: you could grow one out for a little while in a 90, but as BushFishRox said, you would have about 4 months.

we'll you need to be honest with yourself on wether or not you will upgrade his tank when the time comes, too many fish have to suffer at the expense of their owners not having the resources to properly house them, you have to remember a healthy arrow will easily reach the 2' range and more. glad to see you asking instead of just jumping in head first.=)
