Arowana in a 6' tank. How long?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
So after doing some research it looks like arowanas can reach 16" is alittle over a year give or take. Not sure I will be ready to upgrade by then. Im looking to upgrade to a 250 gallon + but it might be 2 years before I can do it.

What about a Jardini? They dont grow as big right? What about their growth rate?

I currently house a jardini in a 6x2 for the last four years with no problems. It seems that once they reach 20" their growth rate slows down

Jardinis aren't as flexible as silvers, a 28" silver aro could easily turn around in a 24" wide tank, but a jardini will have a harded time.

I bought a jardini arowana at around 6 inches . As have it house in a 180 gallon tank . Is that big
enough
for life no, but for awhile yesthat should be a good grow out

Consider building a plywood aquarium. There's so much plywood build threads on this site. I built my 430 gal this way. However, over a three month period, I did go over budget and spend 2000.00 to finish it & get it running. Still need to upgrade my lights & filtration, but it's fully functional. If I had done more research ahead of time, I would've saved alot more money. Just a thought.
