If you believe in arowna myths like me, I have a simple question. I plan to take care of an arowana for a change. I believe in these because it happens, im a chinese and I believe in these.. so do you think an australian arowana is a bad luck or good luck fish?

Believing or not believing myths is fine. Just don't use a myth as a reason for not providing the arowana with proper care and living arrangements.

Whatever rocks your boat but ask yourself first if you can care for it properly.

Anyway with myths it may be good luck to you but bad luck to others
Eg. Indians believe turtles/tortoises are bad luck, whereas they're good luck to the Chinese

I believe that any arowana, be it the common silver aro, the exclusive black aro, the expensive asian aros,
as long as you provide good husbandry to it, will bring you good luck. They are after all, king fishes.

I don't think the Jar is consider as a good luck/fortune fish to most Asian. Most will try Asian aro, especially, the golden one.

If ya want luck, go with a Rabbit's Foot. It's much more practical to carry in your pocket then a big old arowana.;)

i am asian and do not believe with the myth and some people i know that keeps aro back home believes in those myth..especially if the aro is red or gold colored or both in combination and said they would die to fend off your bad luck and bring you good fortune. the aro they mean is those expensive asian aro. none of them are jardini.
that is the reason why green aro asian is cheap..because its dont fly with the myth they believe in.

i dont know if you joking or disrespecting one's believe..i have seen it with people who are believe on the arowana myth, it really does couple times couple occasion then again it might be a just a coincidence.
