it can have poop long agter it ate..how does it look?

it looks whitish... im starting to think its not poo its a parasite. cuz its usually always there.

that is why i asked..whitish poo are parasites..there is medicine for that, I believe Flagyll could do the trick, but it is better you go and check it in a special thread, becuase lots of people will know quantities and procedures that I simply do not remember...sorry, not a big help:(

Could well be Delgado is right. ( Hexamita is hole in the head disease and I have never seen it in aro's ). But you should try. If it eats, you need to soak its food in garlic extract. It is very good with parasites

malnutrition is the leading cause of HITH in cichlids.

hexamita is the secondary infection.

HITH does not occur in arowana.

so it is not hole in the head. so you really should check it out about appropriate medicine, since praziquantel seems to me to be mostly suited for HIH.

Again, try a thread or a serch under "diseases "

well, i could think its either a diet change, water parameter incompatibility or a sick spell
perhaps what i have heard about locally here, hobbyists do use a simple concoction of a herb treatment that could help aid the fish in terms of health and water nourishment which can help improve water stability and improve appetite
Try getting dried sea almond leaves, these leaf can be added into the aquarium direct ,
prior to adding, the leaves can be prepared by pre-soaking with some aquarium salt+air bubble treatment overnight, thwe next day select a few and bunch them up and place into the waters, the waters will get a tanning effect and then let the natural process takes place, some aro keepers not only actually witness appetetite gain but overall fish health and appearance improvement.
anyway, alot of aquarium and hobbyist in this region swear by these sea almond leaves that this brewing on such leaves gives a brackish/blackwater essence that generates invaluable health tips to even the newecomers for keeping arowanas. try it! it could really work it out! cheers!:)
