AROWANA NOT EATING !!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I assume new as it’s 5in. Likely needs some time to settle down in a newly placed tank. Is ur water/tank appropriate and cycled? Tankmates?

I agree. Two of the main reasons any fish will not eat for a while are if they are in a new environment or under stress from tank mates/ water conditions.
If you can eliminate those as potentially the cause then you can move on to other reasons.

yes, it is new. I bought my arowana last week but he ate last week. this week only he didn't eat … also he is alone in my tank

Possibly too many Super Worms or the Chicken Heart made him ill. Mealworm have a very hard body and could block up the young Arowana digestive system. You mentioned this in your first thread.

He is ok now... but I just maintain it to 2 mealworms every morning and night...

Think u should try a pellet instead of the mealworms.

Also, from one noob to the other: don't overthink Arowanas ?. I used to run here and overreact over the slightest thing bothering me but in time I just learn to sit back and let the fish do his thing. Sometimes mine would not eat at all and swim at the bottom. The next day he would gobble up mouthful of pellets like there's no tomorrow. Just know they can be picky eaters and they are clumsy. They'll get banged and scratched with occasional missing scales. Mine jumped out less than a week after I brought it in. You can search my thread if you want. Pretty sure many of your future beginner uncertainties are answered there.

Ps we also tried to avoid injuries by covering sharp glass edges with sponge or rounded plastic.
