My cousin had a big red that we had to move and after the sedatives he wasn't doing too well. A couple of days later he went belly up. Some fish are very sensitive. The last time I moved mine he had a hard time recovering from the sedatives as well. I had to hold him upright and keep water moving over his gills for 30 mins. I used the same amount of water and same amount of sedative for my xb and he was fine. Some fish are sensitive to anesthetics just like people. I suspect the anesthetic was the culprit.
