Asains are nice with the different color variants. But, I always been a fan of the blacks and silvers! there is something about it with the way they glide through the water... its elegant and majestic!

i used two have a jardini about 15 years ago that thing was awesome . it would jump right out of the tank and take crickets out my figures 4 or 5 inches out of the water.
this stopped when he got to a size were it was to much for my figures ( would draw blood ) anyway i loved that fish . i set up his tank really dark and he went a beautiful blackish color with red and pinkish and golden hues . that was the closest to the Asians i have got until recently i seen some at a fish store .
the one thing that crossed my mind with all the vivid colors and types and after seeing videos of breeding ponds in aisa and other videos . and now in person was that i was reminded of goldfish and koi breeding for all the designer varieties . for me this isnt as important or ,intriguing maybe is the word .
and kinda takes me away from the draw of owning such a awesome type of predator fish a jungle or wild river monster . yes i know that the silvers and jardinis in the hobby are bred in ponds as well but ... i dont know the designer type just remind me to much of gold fish and koi breeding but i have never owned one either . so for me i would have to say silvers or jardini they just seem closer to something wild .
