i know that i hve made alot of threads on the same tank but last one ;) i have a 400 gallon tank with a 16 inch pacu 4 albino oscars 8-10 inch 1 tiger oscar 14 inch and 3 small ( 4 inch) misc. SA cichlids

i am importing a 6 inch silver arowana a 4 inch FW moray eel and a 4 inch dinosaur eel

i have another 400 gal tank but i don't want to set it up right now i need to know if these fish can be housed together ( i am willing to get rid of 2 albino oscars to make room for more fish).

can this be done or do i need to put the fish(eels& arowana) into a grow out tank before i introduce them ??

ps. i am currently trying to source a growout tank i am getting the fish on christmas eve i need to know soon any1 plz give me some advice

Why shove in more fish when you have another tank that just needs to be set up? I wouldn't put any more fish in there. The three "small" random SA cichlids may not be fully grown. Without knowing exactly what they are, you will get some disappointing answers. Just set up another tank.

I am also unaware of a freshwater moray eel. I do believe they are brackish. Also, the "dinosaur eel" is most likely a Bichir...a Senegal Bichir is my bet.

what is the dimension of your 400g tank? Shouldve done some research on that moray eel it needs to be transitioned to salt. No such creature as a freshwater moray. I would not mix a silver aro with cichlids until it is 11-12" long and at least twice as long as the cichlids.

The moray eel will eventually need brackish, so it can therefore not be kept with your current stocklist.

Pacus have a lot of mass. What are your dimensions? I don't think any 400 tank is very suitable for a Pacu, especially if there are tankmates.

The senegal bichir will be eaten by the arowana once it gets big enough.

It might work if you've got the one arowana and the few oscars, but like the person above me said, not until the arowana is bigger.

i have a single arowana with two senegals in a 45 gal tank but they are all small and seem to pay no mind two each other living on different levels of the tank

hmmm... thanks guys so i should put the aro in a persnal grow out tank then add to a personal 400 gal with maybe a few smaller oscars???

anyone else i need to know soon getting the fish in trinidad on christmas eve will collect on boxing day so what should i do??

If it's a senegal bichir it's gonna be too small at 4" and will get eaten, if not by the arow probably by the oscars, it probably won't work in either 400 gal if you want other monsters as well, unless you were to get ornate bichirs - bichirs are a great fish to own, personally if i were you i'd get a 40 breeder or even just a 55 to keep him in, and then maybe get another one to pair him up with and add an african brown knife, these fish will make for a good looking setup without breaking the bank.

Also a +1 on growing the arowana out before adding to the 400, and if theres any way you could get pictures of the 'random cichlids' we may be able to help a little more
