Ok I will give some personal experience thoughts on Jardinis with Silver Aros. I tried this combo before and I use to have 2 x 22-24" Silver Aro with a 19" Jardini. I grew the silvers together but the Jardini in a seperate tank. Once the Jardini reached a good size I placed them together with my Silvers in a 250ish gallon Fiberglass tank(72"x29"x28"). I had alot of large bottom dwellers as tankmates too(RTC's, TSN's etc). Anyhow everything went well for a bit until the day happened when my Jardini went on a rampage spree and broke my 22" Silver Aro's jaw. It was so unaligned that I tried to take it out and snap the jaw back in it's place but failed. It couldn't eat and later on it fell victim to a 30" RTC. I can tell u this Jardinis fight alot and imo Silver Aros are the weak Aros out of all species and Jardinis are either one or the most aggressive. Currently and a few months back I tried this combo again with 3 x 10" Silver Aros with a 8" Jardini but my Jardini mysteriously ended up dying. After that I gave up trying this combo again as I don't want to risk losing another Aro and especially when u try so hard in raising them to monster levels. Now I just stay with strictly silvers and blacks together and no problems at all. Anyways I wouldn't advise the Jardini/Silver combo without a massive size tank but if u do go with this combo gl with it.

what about a silver and a blue?

IMO there is no such thing as a blue Arowana as blue and black are the same species. Just some show a nice blue tinge color to it thus LFS's giving it the name Blue and selling it for double the black's price... Both are fine together.

Hi guys,

Just saw this thread and wanted to tell the arowana owner a couple of things:
1. You have bought a growing up black arowana Osteglossum ferrerai from the Amazon basin and you can easily place another one (of the same species) together in the tank you have. Naturally if they grow (probably in your tank max th 20 inches, probably less) over 20 inches better to have abogger aquarium.
2. I would NOT mix them with African fishes (bichir, etc.) but with SA species only.
for a biotope correct aquarium for those have a look on my website under Bleher's Biotopes and you will find several aquariums I decorated from SA mit arowanas and their correct decoration and correct mates.
3. I have red here that someone mixed S. jardini with the SA silver arowana Osteoglossum bicirrhosum is (almost) a crime as there are two world's placed together and the Australian arowanas are extreme aggressive...

Keep it nature like, it is the UNESCO YEAR of BIODIVERSITY so lets keep it according to nature and you all will enjoy it 100times more, your aquarium and your fishes 1000times more...

best regards from a nature lover,

always
