he's been bitten by the love BUG, Growling aro's, that is a true first, I think you deserve an award.

It did sound funny when I first hear it many years ago but I assure u he's not making it up hehehe. :)

Growling is one of my personal favorite mating rituals

I think this definalty rates one of the top ten best threads ever, this aro growling has me cracking up so hard. I want a growling aro, cool monsterfish!

Hello...this question is for all the arowana owners, with 2 aro comms.....

I have a pair of greens in a 180 gallon tank.....1 a 3 year old, that I think is a male....and a 2 year old which I think is a female!

Here is the question.....these two aros do the side by side swim often.....sometimes so close to each other, and in sync.... that at fast glance you think it is only one fish in the tank......

Lately the one that I think is a male, while sync swimming, begins to growl, loud!!!!!

The best I could describe the sound is like a Bull Frog....the sound will last anywhere from 2-6 seconds at a time.....

anyone have experienced this before, with any type of aro?

cheersh

the noise is the courting sound made by the male;)
